Margie has extensive background in purchasing, distribution and communications, has been Assistant Director of Administration since inception, 1976. She is responsible for hiring and all aspects of Human Resources and has 30 years of experience in trust fund administration. In the absence of the Director of Administration, she is responsible for the operation of the Fremont administration office. Ms. Epstein also provides backup to the Fund Manager.
Mrs. Fountain Joined LIA in June 1984 and was Promoted to Assistant Accounting Manager in May 1989 and to Department Manager in November 1996. She is responsible for all aspects of Accounting Department operation (including employer and self-pay billing and recording, COBRA and HIPAA compliance, accounts reconciliation, etc.) and personnel supervision.
Mr. Hart is the Sr. IT Analyst and has worked with LIA since 1982. He is responsible for support and development of all internal computer systems and implementation of external data transfers. Mr. Hart is a graduate of the University of California, Santa Cruz majoring in Information Science. His prior experience includes working as Vice-President of Western Computing Devices, Director of IT for Simpata and independent systems consulting.
Ms. Johnson has worked in the health care industry as a Contract Administrator since 1991. She was the Third Party Contract Administrator for a large drug chain from 1991-1995; then worked as a Senior Account Executive for a pharmaceutical company from 1996-2000. She has been the Director of Administration for LIA 2002 to the current date. Ms. Johnson also serves as the Fund Manager for the Teamsters Benefit Trust.
Mr. McClaskey joined LIA in 2007 to develop LIA’s pension administration capabilities. His role has expanded to include responsibility for LIA’s overall operations as well as Fund Management on new accounts. He joined LIA from United Administrative Services (UAS) where he was Vice President of Claims & Account Management. He was instrumental in the implementation of a new claims system and quality improvement program during his tenure there. Mr. McClaskey also spent 10 years with Zenith Administrators initially as Director of Operations and then as Branch Manager, opening Zenith’s Phoenix operation. While with Zenith, he successfully administered and managed a number of funds. Mr. McClaskey’s experience also includes Director of Claims for a major insurance company (New York Life Insurance Company) and Regional Vice President of Sales for a large Pharmacy Benefit Management company (Pharmacare).
Sylvia Sanchez is the Claims Manager at Lipman Insurance Administrators, Inc. She joined LIA in 1987 as a claims examiner and was promoted to Lead Examiner within the year. A year later she was promoted to Assistant Claims Manager and in 1992 became the Claims Manager. Ms. Sanchez’ extensive experience in claims includes 7 years at New York Life Insurance and 3 years at Provident Life Insurance.
Chris Vlach is the Systems Manager for Lipman Insurance Administrators, Inc. He joined LIA in 2001 to deploy and support desktop computers, and since has designed and implemented LIA’s existing network, security, backup, e-mail, servers, and server room. Chris currently manages LIA’s electronic infrastructure, HIPAA security, and EDI transactions. His extensive hands-on experience in technology includes stints with networking and security, Microsoft and Sun systems administration, data backup and disaster recovery, phone system management, website management, SQL report writing, and UNIX shell scripting. As a result, Chris has passed the exams for CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) and MCP (Microsoft Certified Professional).
